How to Play Texas Hold'em

The Basics

Texas Hold'em is the most popular poker variant worldwide. Each player receives 2 private cards ("hole cards") and shares 5 community cards with all players. You make the best 5-card hand using any combination.

Game Flow

1Blinds – Two players post forced bets (small blind and big blind) to start action
2Pre-Flop – You receive 2 hole cards, then bet, call, raise, or fold
3Flop – 3 community cards are dealt, followed by another betting round
4Turn – 4th community card dealt, another betting round
5River – 5th community card dealt, final betting round
6Showdown – Remaining players reveal cards; best hand wins the pot
